Most people don’t realize that their digital camera can capture video clips as well as still pictures. Quality varies from camera to camera, but it can be nice to not lug around a second (usually larger) video camera. When you take videos on your digital camera, you can quickly display them on most digital frames. Just take the card out of your camera, slide it into the frame and navigate to the video setting on the digital frame menu. You should now see the video file you recorded. Hit play and there’s the video clip.
I’ve been using the Beta version of Frame Channel along with my screensaver and Google Photo Gadget. This software is meant to operate with your wireless digital picture frame. Currently the Frame Channel software works with the Big Eframe’s WiFi models DPF3220 and DPF3219, and PhotoVu’s WiFi models PV1750 and PV1965. Here’s FrameChannel’s description from their website:
Samsung is joining its rival Philips in the Digital Picture frame market. In a few months, Samsung will be offering an 8? and 12? WiFi enabled digital frames. They will first start selling a non-wifi 7? model. (available on amazon.com by May 20th). Little details have been released about these frames. Rumors say they will automatically seek out your wireless network and display pictures from your windows media player. It’s also rumored they will have the ability to receive RSS feeds. We’ll keep you posted on what we see and hear once the frames are officially released.
Why are my pictures displayed in random order on my digital picture frame? When I loaded them, all the pictures were in order?
Finally a company has come up with an easy solution to transfer content onto Wireless Digital Picture Frames. Check out FrameChannel.com.
Pictures that I load from my computer do not show up on my digital frame. My Digital Frame shows pictures just fine when I insert the memory card from digital camera. Can I fix this problem?
This is a common problem. The problem occurs because the images are resized when they are downloaded from your camera to your computer. The software that comes with some digital frames allievates this problem. If you have a frame that did not come with resizing software, here are some solutions to help fix the problem.
Kodak is back in the digital picture frame market. In April they will begin offering 4 new photo frames. Each frame integrates with the Kodak Easyshare Software and allows users to connect a digital camera directly to the frame. Those folks who have pictbridge enabled printers can print directly from the frame.
I’m not sure where to start with this review. I still have not got the wireless area of this frame figured out. I think there is an issue with my network and how I need to configure the router to talk to this frame. Look for an update on this review when I get that (if) I figure it out. That said, I for those look for ease of use, I’m not sure if this is the right frame.
Most digital cameras now offer a video capture feature. Depending on the size of your memory card and picture resolution, you can take up to three minutes of video at a time on your digital camera. I just rediscovered this feature. The video and audio quality from the still digital camera are pretty good, especially when you don’t have to lug a video camera along with you. The quality is equal if not better than my 2003 cannon zr45 digital video camera.
Q. My digital picture frame says that it can connect to my PC via the USB cable. I can’t get this to work. Will you please help me?
A. First all what is the brand of frame you have? You might be able to go to that companies website and download the software you need to operate the frame with your computer.
The second option is to try this. Some frames don’t have a softwared package to transfer pictures from computer to frame. You need to transfer pictures via the explorer window (assuming you are using a windows operating system). Follow these steps:
